The Employer Nomination Scheme (ENS) provides permanent residency to migrants who are already in Australia working as temporary residents and those living outside Australia equipped with the desired skill sets that are in demand in Australia.
The ENS visa scheme has three visa streams:
1 - Direct entry:Applicants with significant occupational experience can be sponsored directly from their country of origin, without transitioning through temporary employment in Australia. Applicants in this stream require a greater duration of occupational experience and a formal skills assessment.
| 2 - Temporary residence transition stream (TRT):The TRT scheme is a pathway utilised for workers currently holding temporary status and are transitioning to permanency after fulfilling visa conditions of previously held visas. Broadly this scheme requires the applicant to:
| 3 -Labour agreement streamThese are specialised agreements developed between the Australian Government and employers. The Labour Agreement stream can be used for migrants that currently work, or will work, for an employer who is party to a labour agreement. Applicants must have suitable English language skills, experience, skills and other attributes for the position. The labour agreement will provide guidance on these.
